The Box Squat is a compound movement using the lower body muscles: the glutes, quadriceps, hamstrings and calves. Compound movements are great for strength training.
Start with your feet hip width apart, neutral spine, with the barbell rested on back of shoulders.
Keeping back and feet aligned, sit on to the bench (keeping core tight)
Once seated, sit upright with a proud chest.
Push back up off the bench to a standing position, squeezing all the lower body muscles and core.
